Hello everyone (if anyone still reads/checks this)! I just wanted to let you know that I have a new Vox Blog (http://mothersmilk.vox.com). It is all about being a "Mommy", which I know some of you may find boring. But if you feel so inclined, please check it out. I actually plan on posting, too! What a concept...
I don't know what it is about Grace and Steve, but if you are on their list, you better watch out! That's right, Grace is the big winner with....DON KNOTTS!!! She is the only one who had anyone on their list not make it to 2007.
Congrats Grace!
For 2007's game, please visit my BFF Scaramouche Jones for the details! May the best man win!
Due to the fact that someone that I have not spoken to in three years still feels the need to keep tabs on my life and what I write on my blog, I will be limiting all personal posts to be viewable by friends and family only. Hopefully this will also allow this person to stop being so interested in my life and move on with theirs.
Do you have any phobias?
Submitted by Amirul B Ruslan.
Arachnophobia, Mottephobia and Claustrophobia with a side of Ochlophobia. A fear of spiders, moths and butterflies and being in a confined space with a dash of crowds. Yes, I need help.
I have a really embarrassing confession. Well, it's not so much my confession as it is Cash's. You see...Cash is a pervert. I...I just can't explain it. I don't know where he learned to be so...open.
Last night Robert and I went to Costco to pick up a few things. They had these really great dog beds on sale for only $19.99 (at Petco they would've been about $50.00) and they were the same color as our couch! So of course we had to pick one up for The Boy.
We got the bed home and showed it to him. He kind of sniffed around a little bit, picked it up and moved it over to a prime spot next to the Christmas tree (shut up, we are taking it down tonight). We kind of chuckled at how cute it was, and we both went off to do other things. Now, I was in the kitchen cleaning out the cupboards and I could hear his tags jingling all around, but I figured he was just playing with his new Christmas toys and didn't pay any attention to it. Robert, who was doing some "man work" in the garage, came in and walked into the living room. I heard him burst into laughter and yell at me to come look.
I can not even begin to describe what I saw when I came into the room. I was filled with shock, horror, and shame. There, on the living room rug, was my baby boy violating his new bed. My first instinct, of course, was to laugh. He wasn't even making contact, but boy was he going to town. He had taken the pillow, folded it in half and was having his way with it. He would pump, pump, pump like a mad man, and then slooooow it down a little...show a little tenderness, and get back to business.
At one point, he looked up and saw us both staring at him. You'd think he would be embarrassed and stop pumping. But no, he just looked over his shoulder and then went right back to business (still not making any contact). The best part is that he doesn't even have any...stuff...to unload. HE HAS NO BALLS!
After many good laughs, a couple of snorts and a few tears, we finally took the bed away from him and put in the closet. *sigh* There's money well-spent! Had we known he was going to abuse the bed, we probably would've thought twice about it. Do they make blow-up dolls for dogs?
I was starting to take pictures of my tree and new bedroom furniture last night and my camera broke!!! WTF? Robert said that he would try to fix it tonight, so lovely pictures will have to wait until tomorrow...Gotta get back to work now, the slave drivers are calling!
Show us something you hold dear.

Look at that face!!! How could you not hold that little guy dear. He is the sweetest baby. When I was sick last week, he slept with me the whole time and even brought me his "buffalo head" toy to cheer me up. He is pretty pissed off at me in this picture, though.
What were you afraid of as a child that seems silly to you now?

This is going to sound soooo weird...but I used to be afraid of the oven. I can't explain it. For some reason I thought that there was a lady who lived in the back of the oven. Her name was Fern and I was convinced that if I got too close, she would pull me in. Funny that I named her, huh?
Now that I think about it, maybe I heard Hansel and Gretel one too many times as a child. Either way, I was afraid of the lady in the oven. Obviously I have issues.
In case you lost track, my birthday is less than a month away. *sigh* It's exhausting to think about. Last year was the big 3-0 and I spent a couple of days in Vegas pigging out and drinking champers.
See? Look at how much fun I had!
Turning 31, however is not really so much a big deal. Of course it is a big deal to me, but not so much for everyone else. So I really didn't plan on too much for my birthday this year. My mommy will be here next weekend. YAY! I am picking her up Friday morning and we are heading straight out to Disneyland!!! Disneyland at Christmas is our favorite time to go. We always have such a good time. On Saturday we are going to have some good girl bonding and Sharon (Robert's mom) is going to join us. Sunday we are going to have brunch at one of the shmancy hotels in HB. I am sooooo looking forward to it! I miss my mommy so much and I can't wait to spend a whole weekend with her!
Originally I was planning on just having a quiet little dinner at Baci the weekend before my actual birthday. But then...guess what? Robert is taking me away for a night for a little escape!!! We are going to be heading up towards Santa Barbara and spending the night at El Capitan Canyon!!!
It is a little slice of heaven, here on earth. There are no cars allowed in the resort, so you hike or bike to your cabin. The cabin we are staying in looks like this. There is a king-sized bed, a fireplace, a jacuzzi tub and a large and lovely front porch! The package that we got includes a massage for each of us and a bottle of wine. So on Sunday morning, we are gonna head up to SB, taking our time. We'll check in sometime in the afternoon, maybe go for a hike and explore around. Then, we'll get a recommendation for dinner and head out. Monday morning we'll probably wake up and go for a walk. At 10am we will have our massages! And then we'll take our time heading home on Monday. How great does that sound??? I have the best boy in the whole world!!! I am soooo excited. I couldn't think of a better birthday gift!
So, despite the lack of elaborate plans, it sounds like I am going to end up having a pretty darn good birthday! And I am happy to be turning 31. I have been thinking about my first 30 years on this earth and I will be posting about it soon. It's been quite a ride, but I am looking forward to seeing what the next 30 will bring!
Whenever we go anywhere, we take a ton of pictures. The pictures that I take are mostly for fun and for my own enjoyment. However, Robert has a tendency to take some AWESOME pictures. Last year in Mammoth he took a bunch of really neat pictures that we later printed out and put in a frame.
Now, we have been looking for art and pictures to hang on our walls for almost a year now. We have somewhat similar taste, but finding something that we both are really excited about has not been happening. We were thinking that we would love to have some of the photos that Robert has taken blown up and put on canvas. Our first thought was that it would be really expensive to do. Well, I did a bit of online research and found a site that does it for a very reasonable price! Check this site out!!
You can order prints on canvas or art paper. If you order on canvas, you can order it rolled or stretched on a frame. If you order the art paper format, you can order that rolled or framed in a variety of frames. Plus, there are so many options in how you want your print blown up! You can go for an oil painting look, an Andy Warhol look, water colors...pretty much anything you can imagine! Of course, my mind is running a mile a minute and I can't wait to go home and play around on the site and order some art! I think this could be very addicting!
See you there! read more
